SRX21864460: Survey of Hirudinaria manillensis
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2000) run: 62.7M spots, 18.8G bases, 5.7Gb downloads

Design: Total genomic DNA was collected from fresh tissue using the DNeasy Blood and Tissue Kit. DNA libraries with ~350 bp insertions were constructed and were then sequenced with both directions of 150 bp reads using the Illumina HiSeq 2000 sequencing platform.

Leeches are obligate blood-feeding annelids distributed around the globe from tropical to subarctic regions. Some leech species secrete various biologically active substances, such as anticoagulants and thrombolytics, and have important medical and pharmaceutical value in antithrombotic treatments. In this study, we provide a high quality genome of the Asian buffalo leech (Hirudinaria manillensis), based on which we performed a systematic identification of potential antithrombotic genes and their corresponding proteins.
Sample: Invertebrate sample from Hirudinaria manillensis
